Topic: Do the Work That Will Show Your Repentance

Repentance is more than saying “I am sorry.” It is a change of heart that must reflect in our actions and lifestyle. John the Baptist preached that everyone should “produce fruit in keeping with repentance” (Matthew 3:8). True repentance shows through the way we live, speak, and treat others.

It’s not enough to confess our sins, we must also forsake them. Many things may seem legitimate to the world, but as God’s children, we must avoid anything that dishonors Him. For instance, selling intoxicating substances like alcohol or engaging in practices that lead others astray contradicts a repentant life.

When we truly repent, our lives become living testimonies that draw others to Christ. Just as those who heard John confessed their sins and were baptized (Mark 1:4–6), we too must demonstrate our repentance through obedience, honesty, purity, and humility.

Let us, therefore, live daily in true repentance, turning away from sin and walking in righteousness. As Jesus said, “By their fruits you shall know them” (Matthew 7:16).

May the Lord, help us not to only say we’ve repented but to live in a way that shows we truly have. Amen.
